Jérôme Taveau

Mr. Taveau is a Senior Consultant at Jensen Hughes, where he provides forensic investigations and expert litigation support to law firms, insurance companies and industry. He is an internationally recognized expert in chemical process safety, loss prevention and explosion protection. He has extensive experience in major hazard industries, including defense, aerospace, nuclear, oil & gas, chemical and manufacturing.

Mr. Taveau has visited large companies in North America, Europe, China, Hong Kong and Japan to help proactively address gas and dust explosion hazards. He has investigated fire and explosion incidents in chemical, petrochemical, energy, manufacturing plants, and a large variety of facilities handling combustible dusts.

Mr. Taveau's experimental background involves planning, conducting and analyzing full-scale vapor cloud explosions and dust explosions in various operating industrial equipment. He has directed the certification of several explosion protection systems for a well-known manufacturing company. His combined academic knowledge and industrial experience enable him to investigate complex industrial incidents and to evaluate the design and efficacy of explosion protection systems in particular, including explosion venting, suppression and isolation.

Mr. Taveau is well-published in the technical literature with 25 peer-reviewed journal publications and more than 70 conference presentations given in 15 countries. He is an Editor for the 3 most prestigious journals in process safety and a significant contributor to various industry standards organizations, such as NFPA, ASTM, ISO and CEN.
